Adventures in Romania
Welcome!
This this is the latest product of the Carpathian 2 Wheels Guide project and the beginning of what we hope to be the first traveller’s community from Romania.
Before we get lost in definitions we would like to point out that this will be a place where you will find funny stories, tarmac and off-road routes, pictures and informations about Romania.
What is the goal ?
To show riders from around the world that Romania is the perfect destination for journeys, both for off-road or tarmac.
A community that talks about their journeys in Romania, shares pictures and videos will encourage more and more riders to come here. They will find answers to their questions, see routes, decide which sights they want to see, find out were they can ride and where it is forbidden.
How can we manage that?
With our experience and your help, off course!
All the information that we consider useful will be written by the Carpathian 2 Wheels Guide team that worked on the two guidebooks and occasional writers.
Also we will encourage you to share your ride reports, videos or photos from Romania so you can become a writer, videographer or photographer in this community.
Why are we doing this?
Because we started a project that has potential to change a lot of things. One of the main goals of the Carpathian 2 Wheels Guide project is to promote local business and help them grow.
We have promoted in the two guidebooks every accommodation that we discovered to have something special and was worth visiting. Some places have great food (in Rimetea Village) some have awesome owners (in Roşia Montana) or just a stunning location (Smida village).
Another important issue: tourism will grow no matter what we do, but there are a lot of places that need to be protected. We want to let everybody know where it is OK to ride or where it is forbidden to. You will not find closed access signs on many of the roads that lead in national parks so a better understanding of the regulations will be useful for all.
We hope we got you interested in this project and you want to find out more about Romania.
A short inventory of the subjects we want to address can be found here: What can you find here?
